ANZSBT Mentor Program

About the Program

ANZSBT is excited to announce a new Mentorship program available to all members.

We are seeking members from the ANZSBT community.

  • Who are interested in being part of a pool of mentors who will support ANZSBT members at different stages of their careers.

and / or

  • Who are looking for assistance and support to advance their knowledge, network, and career as a mentee.

Who is eligible?

The ANZSBT mentorship program is open to Clinical, Scientific and Transfusion Practitioners who are current members of the society. While we aim to match mentees with mentors of their profession, matches may occur outside of profession group based on priorities / goals.

The ANZSBT mentorship programs will run for 6 months with the expectation that mentors and mentees will nurture and develop their own relationship over that period. The mentorship relationship can continue past this if agreed by both parties.

What are the expectations of the mentorship program?

  • Mentor and mentee will regularly meet/communicate – suggest touching base at a minimum of once a month.
  • Respectful and confidential interactions.

How does the matching process occur?

ANZSBT members will nominate as either a mentor or a mentee (or both) in the ANZSBT mentorship program. Once you submit your application to participate in the program, the ANZSBT secretary and a member of council will review your application and match you with a suitable partner based on your skills and goals.  You and your partner will then be contacted about your ‘match’.

Eligibility and Cost

All ANZSBT members are eligible to nominate as a mentor / mentee. As this is a member’s benefit, there is no cost.
